It's Sunday morning, I'm fresh out of the shower with nothing but a towel on. I stand in front of my closet for no less than 15 minutes just staring... wondering how I could possibly have nothing to wear.
There are dozens of dresses, skirts, shirts, tunics, cardigans, tanks, blouses, pants and sweaters in all shapes colors and sizes yet, I have NOTHING to wear.
My first instinct is to go shopping immediately after my photo gig (which is conveniently located in Camarillo near the outlet mall). That thought is immediately followed by guilt.
One-by-one I slide each hanger from the left to the right examining every piece of clothing in my wardrobe. I think it was the five (slightly different) black cotton dresses that made me think...
Chances of ending up with a sixth cotton dress were pretty good if I were to go to the Outlets after my job....
Rather than succumb to shopping I decided to throw myself a little challenge.
The rules are:
1) Before I can buy anything new, and I mean ANY thing, I will need to wear every piece of clothing in my closet at least once.
2) recycling is allowed though it will only prolong the challenge
3) borrowing is ok too but like recycling it will make the challenge longer
4)donating, tossing or skipping a piece is not allowed unless it is obviously not my size or not in decent wearing condition.
At the end of the challenge I will reward myself with a little shopping splurge and donation of old clothes.
Stay tuned! I will blogging my creations on a regular basis..... it could get interesting.
